Yellow Dextrin

Yellow Dextrin is a highly soluble, bio-based modified starch characterized by its yellow to light brown color, exceptionally high cold-water solubility (≥ 90.0%), and low viscosity. These unique properties make it an outstanding binder for high-solid applications. In heavy industries, it is extensively used as a primary green binder for refractory materials and ceramics—burning out cleanly at high temperatures without leaving ash residues. Additionally, it serves as a powerful binding agent in foundry casting, abrasive manufacturing, coal briquetting, and industrial paper adhesives.

Product Description

Applications:

Refractories & Ceramics: Acts as a superior green binder for refractory bricks, castables, and advanced ceramics. It provides excellent initial strength and burns out completely at high temperatures without leaving harmful ash residues.

Foundry & Casting: Serves as a highly effective core sand and green sand binder in metal casting. It ensures high dry strength for the molds and offers excellent collapsibility after the metal solidifies.

Abrasives & Briquetting: Extensively used as a bonding agent in the manufacturing of grinding wheels and abrasives, as well as a reliable binder for coal, charcoal, and mineral ore briquettes.

Industrial Adhesives: Utilized in high-solid, low-viscosity liquid adhesives for paper packaging, carton sealing, tube winding, and envelope gums due to its rapid tack and excellent film-forming properties.

Safety & Handling:

Precautions: This product is bio-based, completely non-toxic, and safe to handle. However, airborne dust from the powder may present a dust explosion hazard. Ensure good workplace ventilation and avoid exposure to open flames or ignition sources.

Packaging & Storage:

Standard Packaging: 25kg multi-wall kraft paper bags or PP woven bags with PE inner liner.

Storage Recommendations: Hygroscopic material. Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated indoor warehouse. Keep away from high humidity and moisture. Ensure packaging is tightly closed after use to prevent lumping and caking.

Shelf Life: 12 – 24 months (under proper dry and sealed storage conditions).
